How can I download my copy these days? I used to download and save every copy for many years - and can re-read and go back to. Now I seem to have to read it "on-line" as there is no "save" facility and if I'm busy when my notification arrives - I don't have time to absorb all the articles. (Meanwhile, thank you for such a wonderful magazine - if only I could "save" it again.).

Hi all, first I want to apologise if you have been inconvenienced with this issue. You can find the latest version available for download here: https://irishlivesremembered.ie/latest-edition/ Regarding the security issues, looking into it there seems to have been a temporary glitch with the servers the website is hosted on. At no point was the site actually comprised. I do hope this helps and any further questions - please do not hesitate to get in touch. Happy Reading!!

Thank you Patricia. I have the same problem as you and this issue 40 won't download. I like to enjoy them also as a member at a leisurely rate due to a busy life but don't want to destroy more trees by printing them out. My thanks to all who contribute to an excellent magazine. There are so many warnings coming up that I will have to modify my system settings that I dare not proceed to download.

Downloading Irish Lives Remembered seems to be getting trickier and trickier every issue. The following link has a downloadable version, however it is not the latest issue, it is issue 39. https://irishlivesremembered.ie/latest-edition/ when attempting to use the links from the email, I get messages that amount to: pdf is corrupted. Like the other folks, I appreciate all the work put into this magazine, but I would like to be able to read it offline. I can only assume (and hope) the editor reads these comments.

There still seems something odd going on! 1 September 2018 I get an email inviting me to click through to the latest edition and I end up looking at the SPRING 2018 edition. I think this started off monthly (2012) and in 2014 became bimonthly and 2016 Quarterly. Presumably there is a pattern and it being 2018 the frequency is being changed again? Or are the servers in serious confusion?

This morning, Sept 3 I have encountered the same security message, "the connection is not private"...

In the past I have been able to print your magazine off in a doublesided format, so I can read it at my leisure as I don't like reading off a computer screen. With issue 40 I can't do that as it has been saved in pdf format with pages 2-3, 4-5 and so on together as a A3 double spread. Is there any way I can access it & print it as straight A4 double sided ?

Partially agree! I read on screen from a saved copy - my screen is usually a laptop - so landscape, but small. The alternative is a tablet - portrait but even smaller! With landscape you can argue that there is no reason not to put two pages side by side - assuming that you can read when two pages occupy the screen. This is possible if you can connect your laptop to a larger screen (say via HDMI to your TV). But if you can't you end up zooming to get the print large enough - and with snaked columns this is exasperating as you have to scroll down and then back up and pan right (then repeat) - and you do not see images in the intended context. I guess the problem is that the people "creating" the "page layouts" are still thinking in terms of a printed magazine paradigm not in terms of an on screen paradigm where ideally you just want to continuously scroll down - but not have an excessive line length? Sorry, it is a series of annoyances that make it difficult to read some very interesting content. You end of transferring your attention to a different part of your family history which is easier to read around!
