What is inside?

Published in 1876, this is the first edition of John O’Hart’s Irish Pedigrees. O’Hart was a genealogist and Irish nationalist, as well as being a firm believer in the history of Irish Celtic mythology and the history of the Bible. Much of the work in here is based on material from the Annals of the Four Masters, which O’Hart acknowledged the importance of in his own introduction here. This volume, Irish Pedigrees, was an attempt to trace Irish lineages back to Celtic and Biblical times, giving the Irish an unbroken link back to Creation. O’Hart maintained that the Irish race could be traced back to the family of Spanish King Milesius, whose ancestry could be traced back to Adam. O’Hart also claimed that the lineage of Queen Victoria could be traced back to Ireland and was also part of the Milesian lineage.
