Published in 12 parts over 6 volumes, Willis’ work is a vast collection of biographical notices of some of the most notable Irish figures in history. Volume II Part II was published in 1840 and continues the Ecclesiastical section from Part I, as well as having a Literary section and the beginning of a new Political series covering from the death of Queen Elizabeth to the accession George III The Ecclesiastical series continues from the previous volume and concludes with Adam Loftus (Archbishop of Dublin). The Literary series includes Gerald Barry, John Duns Scotus and Edmund Spenser, while the Political series includes Roger Moore, Phelim O’Neile, Charles Coote along with several more. The parts are being made available here as they appear in the bound versions.
