Testing the Links: DNA and the Chain of Irish Ancestry - Professor Dan Bradley
January 26th 2018 at 3 pm.
DNA is a physical chain; our biological code written on a 3 billion letter text. It is also the key to unlocking that unique chain of ancestry stored within each of us. Using tricks to jump into the past - surnames linked with Y chromosomes, DNA from ancient individuals - we can use DNA to link us to our heritage on this island. We can also map the links of ancient Irish with other regions and uncover the migrations that shaped the island’s peoples, and the world.
