As part of the St Patrick's Festival weekend, the Irish Family History Centre are running a free and family-friendly Treasure Hunt.

Knowing who you are and where you come from is something we feel everyone should get excited about. We want you to unearth your Irish roots in the most memorable way you can.

All visitors will receive a complimentary prize at the end of their hunt to help you continue researching your Irish Heritage. Explore your Irish roots, search for Irish Ancestors and discover your own unique family story.

Find out:

• What does your surname mean?

• What counties in Ireland is your family name linked to?

• Do you know which celebrity is descended from a medieval knight?

• When and why did Irish people emigrate?

• Where did Irish people emigrate to?

Search the largest number of Irish family records online such as:

• Birth/Marriage and Death records

• Census records

• Parish Records

The Treasure Hunts will run all through the St Patrick’s Festival weekend (Friday 17th – Sunday 19th March), beginning on the hour from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day.

Tickets for this event are free but limited to 20 per hour.
