Fiona Fitzsimons: Finding women in the sources

Lecture for the Genealogical Society of Ireland

12 Dec 17 to 12 Dec 17

Women make-up half our ancestors, but many people tracing their family history neglect the female lines. This is because women are more difficult to trace in the records, because of their social and legal status. Finding women in the records is all about knowing how and where to search.

Join Fiona Fitzsimons, as she explores the range of sources and collections available on Findmypast for family history, and shows you how to search for (and find) your female ancestry.

This lecture will be delivered as part of the Genealogical Society of Ireland Lecture Programme for 2017.

The event will take place at Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute, Cumberland Street, Dun Laoghaire at 8pm on Tuesday 12th December.

A donation of €3 to cover costs is expected.
